  • Usually around 4 - 5 years 25 - 20% ROI, this is longer for domestic installations.

  • All our solar panels come with 25 years warranty as standard.

  • We will speak to the grid on your behalf, usually they allow a portion of the install which you can sell back to the grid at between 7 - 9p /kWh.

  • East Green Energy fit solar solutions across the entire United Kingdom

  • Yes, if its 10degrees or less.

  • We always review the financial performance of pairing battery storage. The best use case is for sites that have a high night time usage so you oversize solar fill the battery up in the day and draw down the power at night.

  • No, as the warranty of the panels far exceeds the payback.

  • We recommend instructing a roof survey in firs instances, prior to this we will review if its viable / possible.

  • Tesla Powerwall is a great option if you are looking to store excess solar PV-generated power for future use instead of selling it back to the grid. This helps you reduce your reliance on the national grid and will, over time, save you money on your electricity bills.

  • The original FIT scheme is split between FIT Generation payments and Deemed Export payments. The Generation payments will not be affected, however if you decide to claim SEG this will replace Deemed Export.

  • We suggest cleaning the panels every couple of years, but this depends on your location and the weather.

  • Usually solar panels come under permitted development rules, so not need to apply. However if your property is listed or the panels in the curtilage of a listed building, planning would be required.

  • Yes

  • In a powercut the solar would switch off to protect any one working on the powerlines. The exception to this is if you have a device in place that islands the property and prevents feedback to the grid.

  • This depends on several factors:

    • Level of existing consumption

    • Size and position of PV system

    • Type of self-consumption devices installed – such as a battery or immersion controller.

    • Amount of SEG received.

As a ball park we suggest payback on average of 10 years.

  • The panels are warranty to generate for at least 25 years.

  • The key cost is the inverter. This box converts the DC to AC and is usually warrantied for 5-10 years.

  • Yes

  • Yes, we apply to UK Power Networks (UKPN) to establish the amount of power that can be exported back to the grid from your site.

  • Yes, solar generation will contribute to the power required by the car.

  • The electricity generated from the solar array is trying to flow back to the grid. On route it will try to satisfy anything in the property demanding power. Once the house load satisfied the excess flows back to the grid. If there isn’t sufficient generation from the solar the short fall is met by the grid.

  • It will reduce performance, but we can optimise the system by using Solar Edge which will make sure each panel operates at its optimum.

  • This depends on your load profile and the discharge rate of the battery. For example if you put the kettle on and it pulls 3kW, if the battery can only discharge at 2kW, two thirds will be met by the battery and the remainder from the grid.

  • There is an interest free grant for Suffolk Home Owners currently available. More information to see if you qualify and application is available here.
