Hollesley House

Hollelsey House represents a remarkable collaboration between East Green Energy, Plaice Architects, and the client, resulting in a stunning modern property set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. Our task was to create a home that offers both warmth and comfort through the winter months, while maintaining a pleasant and cool atmosphere during the hot Suffolk summers.

To achieve this, we implemented underfloor heating throughout the property, with the first floor using routed structural boards to ensure effective warmth distribution. This was paired with a state-of-the-art Blauberg MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) system, designed to maintain a comfortable indoor environment while efficiently retaining heat and enhancing the property’s overall energy performance. Seamless plaster-in vents and strategically placed floor vents were used to ensure a clean, modern aesthetic without compromising on functionality.

To further optimize energy usage, we incorporated a Solar PV system, combined with a Tesla Powerwall for efficient battery storage and backup power. The lighting and electrical elements throughout the property were carefully selected to achieve a contemporary feel. Features such as seamless LED strip lighting in bookshelves and bathroom niches, along with plaster in downlights, create a smooth, integrated look, blending perfectly with the building's fabric.

Outdoor lighting was also thoughtfully designed, with careful attention to minimizing light pollution while illuminating the landscape and driveway, ensuring a harmonious connection between the home and its surrounding environment.
